As we all venture through life, we might get days where we do not know what to do. To get stuck is not ideal, feeling stuck for longer periods can also affect our mental health to a degree of despair. Bottling up our emotions without a good way of relieving or handling it will also just lead to more problems down the line. Growing up I have seen friends and family get into this vicious cycle, feelings of being stuck along more and countless reports of mental health in our youth on a steady decline.
Personally, I have experienced too the feeling of being stuck and realize the need for options to professional therapy to get going again. For me, the most important ended up being to never stop, keep on going and hopefully you find something that make your day.
Most people might have seen reports of now during the quarantine of 2020 with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, people struggling mentally trough these times, to see progress in the everyday can be a challenge. The past season I found this topic the more relevant along with the Norwegian statistics reporting people are growing worried and the decrease joy in life.
I want to explore the playful nature in gamification to encourage for potential better flexible solutions to facilitate challenge for better mental wellness and personal growth.
With this it is important that it does not appear stigmatizing but rather supporting and encouraging for a better wellbeing. It cannot replace existing professional services but act as an independent additive.
This journey led me to a system in the form of an app I call “Enso” as the circle of life we live in the moment, but as many have experienced, sometimes we need a little nudge to keep on rolling. With this I wanted to encourage our growth and skills through gamification and incentivizing.
Using the unique opportunity to give people the opportunity to get better known with their local community even in these challenging times, encouraging social interactions and a culture of sharing locally with the people we encounter. Challenging ourselves trough the app gives us both a good way to share what we create, but also lead the app to learn how to best nudge you so you can reach your goals.
Through incentivizing a plethora of activities we could get a flowing economy of rewarding activity with discounts or special offers from collaborators, this would further encourage these activities leading to further growth for both individual and business.
