What
A boat meant to lower the threshold of getting on to the water by yourself or
with others. With the low weight of only 69kg it can still hold three people and 50kg of luggage. It's made to tackle calm water and although I put a lot of emphasis on the aesthetics it still invites the audience to use it without being afraid of ruining it.

How
The boat has been transformed throughout the design process and revised
more than once before coming up with the final design. Questionnaires,
material-evaluation, drag and stability testing and boating standards has all
played a part in the making. It was always crucial that it held the weight limit
and aesthetically pleasing. It’s been inspired by the 50s-60s era of wooden
sports boats to give it the added value of an "eye-catcher".

Why
I looked at the market and saw that there are not a lot of options for adults in
the smaller boats segment. Stability is one of the requirements and therefore
canoes and kayaks are not seen as competitors. Most of the competitors in this size is heavier and the look is often not to exciting and similar to each other.
